A knife or two are an integral part of an edc carry.  Some people carry one & some carry two (primary & secondary).  Knives vary massively in looks & cost from budget friendly to very expensive, and can be bought directly from a supplier, or from individuals who custom make them.  Knives are also very country sensitive and you will need to establish what is legal in your country or state.  For example in the UK you can only carry a knife if it's blade is less than three inches long and non locking.

It’s illegal to use any knife or weapon in a threatening way.

It’s also illegal to:

carry most knives or any weapons in public without a ‘good reason’, or to sell most knives or any weapons to anyone under the age of eighteen

The exception to these two rules are folding pocketknives that:

Have a cutting edge no longer than three inches & are not lock knives (they do not have a button, spring or catch that you have to use to fold the knife).

The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife or weapon illegally is either 4 years in prison, an unlimited fine or both. You will automatically receive a prison sentence if you’re convicted of carrying a knife or weapon illegally more than once.

There are a range of UK legal knives out there that you can purchase in the UK.  One of the better websites (in my opinion) that actually lists UK legal knives is www.heinnie.com.  All the blades are less than three inches and do not lock into place.  Look below for some examples of UK legal knives presently.

A coin is an important part of an edc set, whether it is one you have found that somebody else has had commissioned, or one you have found or made yourself.  Custom coins are an amazing addition to an edc set & can say a lot about you or your look on life.

A watch is yet another personal edc item and there are many, many choices once again, from very budget friendly to eye wateringly expensive.  You can choose from digital, analogue, chronograph, shock proof, water proof, there a literally limitless choices, just think about what you want from your watch, maybe you just want it too look darn good or maybe you need a waterproof watch because you swim a lot.  The choice you make is once again very personal to you.

A flashlight or torch (called different things is different countries), is once again a very commen part of an edc set and allows you to light the way, whether that is finding a screw you dropped under your desk to lighting the way forward when walking your dog or finding your way effectively to your front door in the darkness.  Flashlights as with any edc piece comes in many guises from a small hand held not too bright light to a portable sun with an extremely bright beam.  Flashlights can have many power & function settings too, from various chooseable brightnesses to strobe lighting or even imitating lightening.  You can also purchase off the shelf in your local supermarket, to having them specially made.

A pen is super important to have at hand, whether to sign for a parcel, keep a journal or write a full blown book.  Pens can also be very budget friendly, a very simply click and write to being able to write in zero gravity or upside down.  A pen is another item in your edc that can be highly personal (the pen in the photo is a custom made, pirate themed solid copper pen that can be adjusted to fit your hand perfectly(.  The sky is again the limit where choices are concerned.

A Prybar (pictured bottom left), is an edc item that allows you wedge & pry things open, maybe something as simple as opening a jar of marmalade, to opening paint tins and the like.  Most prybars come with a bottle opener or cap lifter (Once again different names in different countries.  They once again can be bought off the shelf or can be customized also.  Cost for prybars can once again be super budget to extremely expensive.

A Hank is a modern rendition of the handkerchief.  Hanks have a blank side with non abrasive cloth that is used to clean glasses, sun glasses, lenses and cameras on phones.  The opposite side is customized to exactly what you may want it for, for instance I wanted to put together an "Alien" themed edc set so sought for and purchased the "Chest Burster" design.  Hanks are mostly all budget friendly even the customized versions and add so much character & class to an edc set.

Additional carried items within an edc set could include a mobile phone, a wallet, a lighter, a keychain, some type of fidget toy or haptic slider, vanity tray, multi-tools or even custom sheaths or caddies to transport your edc easily in your pocket, the choice is yours and should reflect what you may be using or not using during the day.
